About the Event

There's a version of Kundalini yoga that comes with a lot of theater. Robes, characters, mystical accents, the teacher playing a guru. That style works for some people. It also turns a lot of thoughtful adults away, which is a shame, because the underlying technology of Kundalini is real and worth experiencing.

This session is the practice without the performance.

We start with Kundalini kriyas. Sequences of breath and movement designed to clear stagnant energy from the body and wake the nervous system up. No costume, no character, no need to believe anything in particular. Just the work, delivered plainly. Whether you've practiced Kundalini for years or have never tried it, the kriyas meet you where you are.

Once the body is open and the breath is moving, we drop into an hour of sound meditation with a variety of overtone producing instruments. The sounds are not here to heal…
